Roll-off dumpster rental in Fayetteville

The yard is in Fayetteville itself — 555 S Cool Spring St in the 28301 ZIP, on the same street as the Cool Spring Tavern in the Downtown Historic District.

Fayetteville is where the trucks start. The yard is on Cool Spring Street, so most of the city is a short run, and delivery is same-day or next-day anywhere inside city limits — often the same day.

It is the Cumberland County seat and a big city — 208,501 people at the 2020 Census (209,120 by the Census Bureau's July 2025 estimate), spread over 148 square miles. City crews take the weekly trash and up to five bulky items free, but they do not collect contractor-generated debris at all. A kitchen, a roof or a whole-house clear-out is roll-off work.

Local knowledge

Getting our bearings in Fayetteville

Knowing a city properly is the difference between covering it and showing up with the right box.

  • Named for Lafayette — Campbellton was declared the county seat in 1778, and in 1783 the General Assembly renamed it Fayetteville in honor of the Marquis de Lafayette.
  • Downtown and Haymount — the City lists both as historic districts, with the Market House on Market House Square downtown. The Cool Spring Tavern, at 119 N Cool Spring St, is on our street.
  • Fort Bragg — the Army post nearby carries the Fort Bragg name again: Fort Liberty was renamed Fort Bragg in February 2025.
  • I-295 is finished — NCDOT opened the last segment of the 39-mile Fayetteville Outer Loop in November 2025, running between I-95 at Eastover and northern Robeson County.
  • Ann Street Landfill at 698 Ann St — the County's permitted landfill for household trash and construction and demolition debris, at $46 a ton for each on the County fee schedule. Yard waste, land-clearing debris and clean wood go to the County's Wilkes Road facility at 771 Wilkes Rd instead.

How we reach Fayetteville

From Cool Spring Street every part of Fayetteville is a short run — downtown, Haymount, and out along Raeford Road, Skibo Road, Bragg Boulevard and Ramsey Street. Same-day or next-day anywhere in the city.

What comes out of Fayetteville properties

Kitchens, baths, flooring and roofs in 15s and 20s, whole-house cleanouts in 20s and 30s, demolition and new construction in 30s and 40s, and a 10 for concrete, brick and dirt. Fewer than half of Fayetteville homes are owner-occupied — 47.4% by the Census Bureau's 2020–2024 figures — so rental turnovers and move-outs keep plenty of containers busy.

North Carolina decides what stays out of the container. State law bans used oil, antifreeze, whole tires, lead-acid batteries, oil filters, computers and TVs, and white goods — fridges, freezers, washers, dryers, water heaters, stoves and window A/C units — from landfills, and lithium-ion batteries join the list on December 1, 2026. Oil-based paint goes to the County's free household hazardous waste center at 923 Wilkes Road; latex paint is dried out with kitty litter, sand or dirt and binned. Drywall, shingles, wood, concrete and brick are fine. Tell us before brush or yard waste goes in — it cannot go to a construction and demolition landfill.

Permits, placement and who may haul in Fayetteville

Who may haul: City Code Sec. 22-13(B) makes it unlawful to haul waste commercially on City streets "without obtaining the necessary approvals, permits and licenses to do work in the City," and haulers who use the County landfill need a Cumberland County health department collector's permit. We hold ours. We found no exclusive franchise for roll-off or construction debris work.

On your driveway: we found no City permit for a roll-off on a private driveway or lot. That is the simple place for it, and our crew confirms the spot with you at drop-off.

In the street or on the sidewalk — the rule that matters: a container in City right-of-way needs a Temporary Right-of-Way Encroachment permit through the Engineering Division (paper form or the City's IDT portal). The City's FY2025-26 fee schedule lists it at $75 per 30 days for "construction dumpsters, etc." — check the current fee with the City. The permit is good for 30 days; you must keep a 4-ft pedestrian path or post "Sidewalk Closed" signs, and tell Construction Management on (910) 433-1798 when the work starts and ends. Sec. 24-6 wants anything left in the street overnight protected by lights, and blocking a sidewalk without a permit is a Class 3 misdemeanor (Sec. 24-18). On a state-maintained road it is NCDOT's written permit instead (G.S. 136-93).

Noise hours: Sec. 17-11 bars loading and unloading containers within 50 yards of homes from 7 pm to 6 am on weekdays and from 7 pm to 8 am on weekends and holidays. We answer the phone 24/7, but drop-offs and swaps near homes run inside those hours.

Knocking something down: for commercial buildings and apartment buildings of more than four units, North Carolina's Health Hazards Control Unit needs a demolition notice at least 10 working days before work starts, even if no asbestos is found. Homeowners can renovate without an asbestos test, though the state recommends one. Asbestos never goes loose in a roll-off. Ann Street takes it by appointment only.

Summarized from the city's published code and web pages as read in October 2026. Codes change — confirm with the department listed before you rely on it.

How it works

Booking a dumpster in Fayetteville

Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.

  1. 1

Call and tell us the job

One short conversation. We ask your location, what you are clearing, roughly how much there is, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us. No long forms, no guesswork.

  2. 2

We size it and quote it flat

You get one number covering delivery, the standard rental of up to 7 days, pickup, disposal and a stated weight allowance. If a smaller box does the job we will say so. If it is concrete, shingles or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size.

  3. 3

    Delivered where you want it

The driver sets the container on the driveway, lot or job site exactly where you asked, with boards under it if you want them. Often same-day or next-day, depending on availability.

  4. 4

    Load at your own pace

Keep it level with the top edge and keep the banned items out — tires, car batteries, used oil, antifreeze, paint, chemicals, propane tanks, TVs and computers, and appliances such as fridges, washers and water heaters. Need a swap mid-job or an early pickup? One call or text and we are on it.

  5. 5

We haul it and dispose of it right

The load goes to a permitted facility such as Cumberland County's Ann Street Landfill, with metal, concrete, cardboard and clean green waste recycled whenever possible. You get your driveway back the way you left it.

Local answers

Dumpster rental in Fayetteville — common questions

How fast can you deliver in Fayetteville?

Same-day or next-day anywhere in the city, and often the same day. Call (910) 672-8396 — the yard is on Cool Spring Street, and we answer 24/7.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Fayetteville?

Not that we found for a private driveway. In a City street or on a sidewalk, yes — a Temporary Right-of-Way Encroachment permit from the Engineering Division, good for 30 days. The FY2025-26 fee was $75 per 30 days; check the current fee with the City.

Will the City haul my remodel debris?

Only for homeowners, by paid appointment booked 7 days ahead — and the City does not collect contractor-generated debris at all. City Code makes removing construction and demolition debris the property owner's job, so a roll-off is the simple answer.

How much does a dumpster cost in Fayetteville?

Flat-rate, $295–$695 depending on the size and the job, with no hidden fuel or pickup fees. Call (910) 672-8396 for a quote.
